Historical Duck

On the web, content is king. Far more important than glitzy graphics, content makes people come back again and again.
Let's see how WebFoot measures this month's chosen web sites:

Ratings
Info
Content Links Glitz Type Site (url) and Comments
C- D   A+ Personal Warp Xperience (http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Bay/2999). A personal Warp home page with a great design. Investigate this one; some good stuff here.
F   A+ D   User Group The OS/2 WWW Homepage (http://www.mit.edu:8001/activities/os2/os2world.html). Look, these are MIT guys, right? So give them a little slack.
A   B   A- Software Shareware Junkies (http://www.sharewarejunkies.com). An OS/2 section and a colorful homepage warrant a perusal.
A   D   D   Rexx Comp.Lang.Rexx (news:comp.lang.rexx). The Duck hates Rexx. But these quackers don't.
A   B   B   Magazine Computerworld Magazine (http://www.computerworld.com). This big iron mag is often an OS/2 fan. A "search" on "OS/2" found 22 recent articles.
B   A   B   Java Java News (http://www.innoval.com/java). Products and announcements for this big, new language.
B   B- A   Personal Timur Tabi's Home Page (http://www.io.com/~timur/index.html). There's enough OS/2 stuff on this personal page to warrant a quick quack.
C- F   B   Graphics LogoArt from WorkLab Systems Solutions (http://www.worklab.com). LogoArt brings vector graphics to OS/2.
B   F   B   Programming DC Micro Development (http://www.dcmicro.com). Crusher is a cross-platform (yes, OS/2 is supported) data compression toolkit for programmers.
F   D- C+ User Group Montreal OS/2 Users Group (http://www.contact.net/os2/). Well, it's in Quebec, so first you've got to click on "English".

This month's Duck Feather

There are a lot of OS/2 newsgroups. To see a list of them, start at http://www.dejanews.com. Then,
  • Select "Browse Groups" in the left column, then search on "comp.os.os2".
  • Also, select "Interest Finder" in the left column, then search on "OS/2".
The lists will be slightly different.
