Yes, the iptrace was run on the T61 while the desktop was running "net view \\8bells". That
command should have returned the sharename on the T61. And the share was running.

>Have you compared the trace to a trace for a working setup.

Not yet, it's on my tasklist for later today.

>Is there any possibility that you have two boxes with the same IP address.

Of course there is that possibility but no, there is not a duplicate IP for this computer.

>I am assuming you are TCPBEUI only. No NETBUEI. True?

Sorry, I get confused on the 'buei' thing - can't keep that terminology straight. But I do have
netbios over tcpip active so maybe the answer is No, not true.

tcpip & netbios over tcpip are on lan0
netbios is on lan1

From ibmlan:

net1 = NETBEUI$,2,LM10,34,100,14
net2 = TCPBEUI$,0,LM10,34,100,14
net3 = TCPBEUI$,1,LM10,34,100,14

and from protocol.ini:

[NETBIOS]

DriverName = netbios$
ADAPTER2 = netbeui$,2
ADAPTER0 = tcpbeui$,0
ADAPTER1 = tcpbeui$,1

>Have you checked HOSTS for conflicts?

Yes, and did find a typo there which I corrected but that didn't cure the problem.

I do want to say that during Warpstock Chuck discovered that the wireless nic did not broadcast the
correct MAC, it broadcasts 0:0.... and it was causing a problem for him on a router. There
apparently has been no advancement on the driver regarding this issue. I've read a few things on
the genmac group but nothing indicating any progress. I'm wondering if netbios requires a MAC that
is not O0:0O or FF:FF in order for p2p to work correctly? In other words, maybe I can't get it to
work as long as the driver broadcasts 00's.

I'll check that iptrace of a working setup this afternoon.

Thanks, Jon
