It's messy. The BEUI's describe how the SMB packets are encapsulated for
transport over the network. NETBIOS is the application interface to the
LAN services. However.

OK, you are running both NETBEUI and TCPBEUI.

This all looks reasonable. Just to be sure, check that the tcpbeui_nif
and netbeui_nif bindings match up with the adapter number assignments.

This a NIC specific issue. I assume you have one of these NICs.

It's possible, but the packets are getting to the T61. It is just not
responding.

I have to suspect that for some reason, the tcp/ip stack is not passing
the packet to the tcpbeui driver.

I haven't used it very much, but you can control tracing TCPBEUI
activities with the OS2TRACEMASK. View mtpscfg.inf with ibmview and
search for OS2TRACEMASK. You don't need to reboot to adjust the mask
value.
