Warp on the Web
With Reports on Web Browsers for OS/2

A Quick Look at XWarpzilla

July 21, 2001

by Dave Watson

Summary: Port of Warpzilla for X-windows systems. Runs under Xfree86 on Warp.

Source: Hobbes at http://hobbes.nmsu.edu and Harry Sobotka at http://www.axess.com/users/sobotka/warpzilla/

Version: Based on Warpzilla 0.8.

Installation: Exceptionally complicated and time consuming installation of Xfree86 and I still haven't gotten Xwarpzilla running. Needs GTK+ installed first.

Features:

Problems: the pain... Install is tough. I haven't beaten it yet. All Warpzilla products need lots of memory. Xwarpzilla readme says it needs 30 megs.

Recommendation: Great for the masochist or psychotically curious.

Take a look at the browser overview with quick looks at other web browsers for OS/2.
