SCOUG Thanks Steve Schiffman!

The August 2001 SCOUG meeting started out about like always, with some quips about starting late and announcements from President Tony. Steve was there, finishing the setup for his Networking SIG presentation later in the morning. Little did he know that he was the first topic on the agenda...

Surprise! We gave Steve a box.

Ah, but not just any box. Steve's box held our appreciation for his many many years of service on SCOUG's board of directors, which culminated last year as president.

There was more in the box than just the stuffing. But we made him dig for it.

Every SCOUG member knows that you can never have enough computer stuff. So, we gave Steve a gift certificate to Fry's. (His wife Melanie could be heard in the audience commenting she already knew what to do with it.)

And, because we weren't satisfied with just that, we also gave him a beautiful placque.

A Token of Our Appreciation

Not that we think his service to SCOUG is over... Steve won't get off that easy!

Thanks to Dave Watson and Randell Flint for these pictures.
