I could not find out what extra filtering they did, just that I could not turn 
it off.  All of the large ISPs filter email which is the main reason why I will 
not use a large ISP. 
Both my wife and I knew we were losing valid email which is why I looked into 
the problem.  I moved my domain from my ISP to godaddy and it got much worse 
than my ISP (less than a week and I was looking for another hosting company).  
Then I went searching again but this time after I asked the sales people if I 
could turn off all spam filters and they said yes I called the support line and 
asked there and many times got the opposite answer.  Now my domain is on 
pair.com and has all spam filtering turned off, so far I have not had any 
indication of losing email.
