I'm not thinking of changing cable providers for better support, I just  want one that is up most of  the time. I get support here!
 
 
Please explain to me the difference between ISP and internet access  functions. I know that an ISP usually provides a more or less fancy
 gateway, usually mail and sometimes news server access, and all sorts of
 filtering etc. Is it possible for me to rent internet access without any
 of the other functions?
