I am trying to get Timidity to work, quite unsucessfully.

I downloaded the distribution file, timidity++_2104_os2.zip and
unzipped it to a directory, E:\timidity. I then modified the
timidity.cfg file to add:

dir e:\timidity

I also copied the *.mid files from e:\MMOS2\sounds to the
e:\timidity\midi directory. Trying to run Timidity, I get the following:

[E:\timidity]timidity midi\bach.mid
c:/timidity/timidity.cfg: I/O error
timidity: Can't read any configuration file.
Please check c:/timidity/timidity.cfg

The C: drive is Win2000 (NTFS) so, of course, it can't be read!
WHY is it looking on the C: drive? There is NO reference to "C:"
anywhere in the program or supporting files.

I have also tried: "timidity -L E:\timidity" with the same results.

Help, anyone? Thanks!
