I suspect you didn't install the correct PCMCIA socket services driver:  
 
  BASEDEV=SSVLSI.SYS  
 
If that's not it you consider providing a better explanation of the  
failure than "it does not work."  
 
Do the drill and post copies of:  
 
  config.sys  
  protocol.ini  
  setup.cmd  
  startup.cmd  
  lantran.log
