I assume this 2GB limit could be the reason why CDS (BackAgain) made a =  
 
special offer of BackAgain Server, NOT Workstation (!!!), together with  
eCS !?!  
 
Just give a try with a BA Server trial version !?

I think Steven already mentioned the likely culprit as being your backup  
program.  The company which created it may not have written it to allow  
files larger than 2 GB so even if JFS allows it the program still won't  
create a "big" file.  Check with their tech support.
