Can anyone answer the following questions for me, please:?

On my OS/2 machine, when I view the shared files and folders that are on Windows
machines, I can see the full, long names for the files and folders on the Windows XP
machines, but not for the ones on the Windows 98 machine. The file and folder names
on the 98 machine are truncated with that "~" sign. Why? Is it that the XP machines use
the NT file system and Windows 98 uses FAT32? Would I be able to see the full file
and folder names, if I installed FAT32 on my OS/2 machine? Thanks for your help in
this matter.
