I tried upgrading Mozilla 1.4.1 to Mozilla 1.6b.

What I did:

I deleted everything in the Mozilla subdirectories except Mozprofiles and
Plugins.

I unzipped the GCC file, lib04 into the Mozilla directory.
I then unzipped the 1.6b file.
I then deleted the secmod.db and xul.mfl files as per the Mr. Kia article.

What happened:
When I went to start Mozilla.exe, I got the Mozilla splash screen briefly,
and then it disappeared. That was all. Nothing was running. I tried
repeating the Mozilla.exe, but the same thing kept happening.

So now I have deleted everything relating to 1.6b and restored 1.4.1 from
a backup.

I would like to try and install Mozilla 1.6b again, but I have overlooked
something and can't figure out what. If anyone has any suggestions, I will
try again. (Also, I did not try rebooting after installing the Mozilla
1.6b, but I don't thing that should matter?)

Thanks,
Sandy
