Thanks for your quick response. Now, I have a better understanding of the problem. I'm   
not sure what I'm going to do with it, however, since Brandon's trick/workaround   
apparently does not work with Windows 98.  
 
It's interesting that Windows XP does not care that OA/2 advertises the older version of   
NetBEUI, since I can see the complete, long filenames of the shares on those boxes.
