So was I. This should have read:

"I don't know if the LSI driver can run a TekRAM card."

In the past I've had some TekRAM cards that ran fine with an LSI driver
and others that didn't. This was all cards with the same base SCSI
chipset. I have to assume that what I experienced was the result of
variations in the TekRAM BIOS code.
