Hi Ray,  
 
Run SmartBar and see which process is using the cpu:  
 
    http://ftp.quasarbbs.com/alessandro/smbar32.zip  
 
The version is 3.2.  He's never updated his web page which shows version  
3.1, but 3.2 is the latest as far as I know.  
 
The version on Hobbes is 3.1:  
 
    http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/util/wps/smbar31.zip  
 
I use 3.2 and have no trouble with it.
