SCOUG OS/2 For You - September 1997
Sept 20 IBM "Voice" Bigwig
Comes to SCOUG
IBM's Ozzie Osborne, the General Manager who "navigates" IBM's voice products, and
"dictates" their direction, will be our special guest presenter at the next SCOUG
meeting. As IBM decides its' direction on speech products, we will hear the latest
straight from the horse's mouth.
SCOUG and its members have used the cutting-edge technology embodied in VoiceType
(as included with OS/2) to promote our operating system of choice, so this meeting
promises to be one of the most exciting of the year. Be prepared for a surprise or two!
After the main presentation, the SIGs will meet on the following topics:
General Interest - will look at a few interesting Internet applications.
Networking - will look at REXX utilities to help manage the LAN Server domain.
Programming - will be looking at customization of EPM plus tips and tricks on using
EPM to support programming development (such as syntactical highlighting, direct links from compiler errors, etc).
There's also the usual get together for lunch at the local Sizzler afterwards of
all those that want to eat but also don't want to stop talking about OS/2. There's
also the Internet SIG on the evening of Mon., September. 22 for those interested in
the Web.
