SCOUG OS/2 For You - June 1996
June Meeting Topic
Learn How to Make Your Money Grow
June 15th - Money Tree
Don't let the lazy days of summer lull you into misguided financial bliss.
It's just six months 'til Christmas. Are your finances in order or might
you benefit from personal money management?
Since you are running OS/2, you're in luck. Dr. Bryan M. Minor, president
and lead developer of Mt. Baker Software, will show us how Money Tree's
object-oriented approach can help us keep on top of our personal finances.
With Money Tree, users can track multiple checking, savings, cash and
credit card accounts as well as loans (mortgage and personal), insurance,
and assets. The assets tracking includes stocks, bonds, money markets,
mutual funds, and certificates of deposit. There are extensive reporting,
graphing, check printing utilities, and a CheckFree bill payment service.
Also, a number of financial "What If?' modules offer insights into
investment planning.

The SIGs Add to Your Wealth of Knowledge
As usual, there will be a question and answer session after the
presentation when you'll be able to seek solutions to problems or
questions you've been facing with OS/2. Then the SIGs will follow after a
short break:
General Interest Group - will explore the basics of REXX, what it is, what
can be done with it, and what add-ons are available. As always,
general questions and answers will follow.
Network - will start a series on client/server computing using OS/2 Warp
Server.
Programmers - will continue with the Openclass library sample program.
They will be looking at how to improve the appearance of the
program window by using the various types of canvas classes and
explore how to program font and color changes.
Don't forget that the Internet SIG meets on Monday evening, June 24th, at
7 PM.
