SCOUG OS/2 For You - November 1995

November Meeting Topic

What's Ahead from IBM?

November 18th

Straight from COMDEX, you'll get the scoop on new OS/2-related technologies coming in 1996. IBM will be sending one of its representatives to talk about a topic so secret (subject to change) that we don't even know yet what it is.

A general question and answer period will follow the presentation, giving you a chance to ask any OS/2 related questions. Than after a short break, the special interest groups will meet:

General Interest Group - Gene Osten will continue his explanation of the CONFIG.SYS file.

Network Sig - Steve Schiffman will lead a practical discussion of LAN-related problems and their resolution. Come prepared to explain a real problem and how it was solved.

Programming Sig - Kim Cheung will give a brief introduction to REXX.

Internet Sig on Nov 27th - will explore the issues of security and the ramifications of a "fire wall" to restrict access.
