SCOUG OS/2 For You - January 1995
New Files on the BBS
Word Processing Demo Available
A fully functional version of Clearlook, the new native OS/2 word
processor, is available for download from the BBS. According to the folks
at Clearlook, who provided the files, the demo version offers all of the
functions of the commercial product. They say that the only limitations
in the demo version are related to printing and using the Spell
Checker/Thesaurus. When you print with the demo version, in addition to
your text and graphics it will also print a large copy of the Clearlook
logo in the middle of each page. The other limitation of the demo version
is that the Spell Checker/Thesaurus can only be used on a file with the
name DEMO.CTX.
If you are interested in checking out this new OS/2 product, the files to
download from the BBS are available in a compressed library under the name
LOOKDEMO.ZIP. If you don't already have one of the programs to UNZIP the
file, you should also download one of these. Check for your options in
this area by sending a "Z unzip" command to the BBS to initiate a "Zippy
search" which will locate the various programs which will perform the
uncompression necessary to use the demo program.
The Clearlook demo is just one of the new files on the BBS. Perhaps some
of these will interest you.
