Vol. 2 No. 3 SCOUG OS/2 For You - Mar. 1993
Mar. Meeting - a Double Header
The general meeting on March 19th looks to be action packed, with
presentations by our members on two useful 32-bit OS/2 applications. As
usual, there will be a general question and answer period after the
presentations.
VisPro/REXX
Gary Granat will explore the potential of this very graphical REXX
programming environment. VisPro/REXX from HockWare Incorporated makes it
easy to build OS/2 GUI applications. The product includes a SOM toolkit,
animated graphical debugger, and support for multi-threaded applications,
among other things. It will be interesting to see how it compares and
contrasts with WATCOM's VX-REXX which we saw demonstrated last month.
BackMaster QIC 40/80 Tape Backup
Everyone recognizes the hazards of operating a PC without adequate
backups. BackMaster from MSR Development provides full, partial,
incremental and unattended backups for use with OS/2 and most QIC 40/80
tape drives. Tom Suter will put the product through its paces in this
demonstration. And, Matt Bennett reviews BackMaster later in this
newsletter.
