OS/2 For You - Feb. 1993 - Volume 2, Number 2
February Meeting Topic
VX-REXX
REXX is a flexible and easy to use high-level end-user language that
actually comes with OS/2. WATCOM VX-REXX goes beyond standard REXX,
providing a visual design environment and a number of advanced features
for creating GUI applications for OS/2 Presentation Manager.
Rob Veitch, the VX-REXX Chief Architect and Technical Manager at WATCOM,
will explain the advantages of VX-REXX for exploiting OS/2. In the
process, he will demonstrate REXX and VX-REXX operation, programming, and
debugging.
While this meeting will have a technical slant, it is definitely not just
for programmers! OS/2 provides a very graphical environment, and we'll
get a useful glimpse at some of the issues involved in application design.
As usual, the meeting will conclude with a general question and answer
period.
